Spencer Clayton Spencer came to the art group and created his first painting in 2019, brought to the group by another artist. He tried out drawing and painting with acrylics and his early pieces were reminiscent of a cubist style. His next art stage was inspired by the Bob Ross exhibit and stemmed from Ross' wide paintbrush, long brushstrokes, and wet backgrounds. The drips were Spencer's "happy little accidents". Spencer has a definite preference for music while he works and will often sing or dance while painting. His sense of humor and jokester personality emerged. Outside of the studio Spencer enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and his family, bowling, watching theater, watching pro wrestling, and dining. |

He has great drawing skills and enjoys working in pencil and marker, but has now expanded his repertoire to include oil pastel, acrylic painting, collage, and mixed media. He often works freehand and found some classmates with similar skills that he can work side by side with. Although they rarely converse, their artwork often reflects the other person’s art. |

Kirby joined art group in 2024 and primarily enjoys the social interaction. He will participate in the art activities but is often more focused on watching others and if people come chat with him, he will reward them with the biggest, happiest grin. He was an actor for AFAL for several years and now he is a regular attendee in the DaVinci art classes. He loves to draw and has been doing it independently for many years. Now he draws, paints, colors, and participates in group projects with his fellow artists. His preferred medium is marker but he has used crayon, watercolor, acrylic, made collages, and tried printmaking in art class this past year. He loves to draw animals and free hands most of his drawings. Jordan currently has art for sale - check it out! Please note this site is not affiliated with Arts for All Loudoun. |

Kaylee joined AFAL DaVinci Wednesday class at the beginning of 2025 and discovered a friend from Kindergarten was in the class. Needless to say she has fit in well in the group and has really enjoyed the social aspects as well as the painting and art projects. She likes painting best but also draws and makes collage with great success. She has potential as an actress, too, with very realistic fake sneezes and she hopes to audition for the next AFAL show. |

Tim Peterson
“I love it!’ Tim’s signature exclamation is testament to the enthusiasm he brings to the AFA visual arts studio each week. Tim is one of a handful of regulars who have been with the program since the inception of the DaVinci Program by Pam Oliver in 2001. He arrived to the program with several notebooks full of drawings. He then embraced acrylics with gusto, and has also worked with watercolors. His attention to detail in paintings of animals and landscapes has led to some successful commissions. He enjoys the freedom and flow of paint, and has added it to the materials he uses at home. Tim is a big fan of Bob Ross and likes to learn new techniques to add to his repertoire during art sessions. |
